The Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia (EPMIB) has completed a large-scale inspection of the "Tumanyan Forestry" branch of "Hayantar" SNCO, covering the period from November 2022 to June 2026. The inspection uncovered numerous violations of forest-use regulations.

Key findings:

• Illegal logging: 496 illegally felled trees of various species and diameters were identified, with damage to the plant life estimated at 114,686,928 AMD.
• Illegal road construction: A total of 8,320 square meters of roads were built without positive expert conclusions, project approvals, or forest engineering designs.
• Document falsification: Volumes of timber from broken and fallen trees were illegally added to logging permits and recorded in accounting documents; the recorded data did not match management plans or forest engineering projects.
• No reforestation: After clear-cutting, no reforestation measures were carried out, and felling sites were not cleared of timber residue.

The inspection body has already forwarded materials showing apparent signs of criminal activity to Armenia's Investigative Committee; administrative penalties are planned for the remaining violations.
